Bumpd

Terms of Use

Effective September 30, 2026

Bumpd is for meeting people in person, kindly. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Anyone can block or report someone, and we act on every report within 24 hours.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Jorge Ruiz, the independent developer of Bumpd ("Bumpd", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Bumpd.

Who can use Bumpd

  • You must be 18 or older, and the birthday you give when you sign up must be your real one.
  • One account per person, with a real first name and a handle that isn't pretending to be someone else.
  • Bumpd is invite-only for now. Invites and bump codes are for people you actually know or meet.
  • You can't use Bumpd if we've removed you before, or where the law doesn't allow it.

Community rules: zero tolerance

You may not use Bumpd to post, share or do any of the following. We remove the content and the account, without warning, when we find it:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, including by using Bumpd to find out where someone is.
  • Hate speech, or attacks on people for who they are.
  • Nudity, sexual content, violence or gore, including in your profile photo or name.
  • Anything involving the sexual exploitation of minors. We report it to the authorities.
  • Pretending to be someone else, or misleading people about who you are.
  • Spam, scams, or selling things.
  • Sharing someone else's private information, or photos of them without their permission.
  • Faking a bump: sharing bump codes with people who aren't with you, or tampering with the in-person check.
  • Anything illegal.

Blocking and reporting

  • Block anyone from a bump, the bump's page, or your list of bumps. You stop seeing each other in Bumpd and can't bump again. They aren't told.
  • Report someone the same way. Pick a reason, add a note if you like. Reporting also blocks them.
  • We review every report within 24 hours and may remove content, suspend or remove accounts, and, where needed, contact the authorities.
  • If you're in danger, contact local emergency services first.

Your account and content

  • You're responsible for your account and what you share on it: your name, handle and profile photo.
  • You keep ownership of what you share. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people Bumpd shows it to (the people you've bumped with), only to run Bumpd.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings. That deletes your account, your places and your bumps.

Suspending or ending accounts

We may suspend or remove any account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, with or without notice. You can stop using Bumpd and delete your account whenever you like.

The service

  • Bumpd tells two people who meet in person whether their paths crossed before, based on coarse places and dates. It can miss crossings or show ones that weren't meaningful. Don't rely on it for anything important.
  • Bumpd is provided "as is". We may change, pause or stop features. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything other people do.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Bumpd or its content, for maintenance or support, or for any claims about it. If Bumpd fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (Bumpd is free). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You also agree to the App Store's terms of service.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived. If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before important changes take effect.
