Your phone looks at where and when your photos were taken, and turns each one into a neighborhood-sized area and a date. That's all it shares. When you bump with someone, Bumpd compares the two lists and shows where they overlap: the same neighborhood within about a day, or the same wider area within about a week.

Then today is your first. Bumpd remembers where you met, and if you both switch it on, lets you know when you're in the same city again.

No. There's no search and no way to add someone you haven't met. A bump only happens when two phones are together, face to face.

Yes. Bumpd is free to use during the beta.

Not yet. Bumpd is on iPhone first.

Never. Bumpd reads the location and date of your photos on your iPhone. The photos themselves never leave it. The only picture Bumpd ever uploads is a profile photo, if you choose to add one.

No one. Your history is never shown to anyone. After you bump with someone in person, the two of you see only the places you share.

Only if you allow it, and only coarsely. Bumpd uses iPhone's low-power location updates to keep your history going, turned into the same neighborhood-and-date format before anything leaves your phone. Ghost mode lets you go dark whenever you like.

Anytime. In Settings you can delete your place history or your whole account. Deleting your account removes everything.

Bumpd only works with people you actually meet, so it grows the same way: in person. Every member gets three invites. If you know someone on Bumpd, ask them. Otherwise, join the waitlist.
